A cheering instance of humans behaving well.

whoosh! The sound of a literary reference flying overhead. Started the book, couldn't get through it. =)

However, I know from personal experience, a towel, a large, soft shirt, a blanket, a sheet, lo these many expanses of opaque, soft material have aided and becalmed many a misplaced and frequently freaked creature. Kinda like how the best thing for people overdosing on LSD is to chuck a blanket over them. Just reduce that stimulation, and EVERYTHING is better.

Oh, now that I read it, they didn't use it that way. Still, handy.

So, enquiring minds want to know, is that poor creature NOT getting cataract surgery? Surely some veterinarian school would take the owl in to fix him/her up while performing a valuable demonstration for the students?

Wow. Humans, it turns out, occasionally have hearts. Although the first denizen of Mt. Vernon had the most horrific slave quarters I have ever seen.
