Spring Unsprung

This morning I was a bit surprised by what greeted me outside my window, and I think the plants were a bit startled by it as well.

The animals that I saw on my walk to the Metro, however, seemed to be taking it in stride. Of course, their trills and warbles might well have been imprecations, but they sounded cheerful enough to me.

Here, too, dammit! What a "spring."

As a California resident, I send my empathy, but also suggest folks appreciate the precipitation, of which we've had ALMOST NONE since JANUARY. And January & Feb = most rainy months 4 us (= most of our annual precip), and it's almost April. Yikes! HOPING forecast weekend rain happens.

Glad the animals don't seem too freaked out. I can't IMAGINE being as tough as wildlife. Yow.

@biobabbler: Actually, since it's pretty much the only snow we've had in DC this winter (and the streets weren't too bad), I was pretty thrilled. And, while we don't have to depend on winter snows to keep us in water, I hope you get some precipitation soon and don't have to face summer drought!
