Ohhh, lovely! Do you know what it is? Does it look anything like any of the guys that I just posted? (http://biobabbler.blogspot.com/2014/07/its-bird-its-plane-its-super-exuvia.html) Has that nice long schnoz.
Aren't bugs addictive? I'm SO in love with that tiny world.
I love those shots of yours! As for this one, I really couldn't say; my first thought was weevil, but I'm not sure the back is very convincing for that. And YES--I love my macro lens, not only for its lovely crispness but because it lets me see a whole other universe.
Just to be clear: I don't work at the National Zoo--I just live near it. I'm originally from Detroit, most recently from Boston (where I got my Ph.D. in biology from Tufts University), and am now living in Washington, DC.
