Between Two Pillows

(my little homage to Planes, Trains, and Automobiles)

I rarely see all three peccaries together—usually the smallest and most punk-looking peccary, which I believe is the oldest, is separated from the other two, or, if all three are together, the smallest looks on while the other two hang out together or use their snouts to dig out a comfortable bed for themselves:

[arrow indicates punk,
loner peccary]

But on Monday—a cool day with a sharp wind—all three of them were snuggled together, back to front to back. Was it a new level of bonding, or just a response to the change in season? I couldn’t say, but does it matter? They looked so cute—!

Thanks for showing that animals at least CAN work together and for making me smile on this politically appalling day.
